Monaco and Juventus are set to face off in a crucial UEFA Champions League encounter, with both sides fighting to secure a spot in the knockout-phase play-offs.

The Italian giants have gained momentum in recent weeks, securing three consecutive European victories that have boosted their chances of finishing in the top eight.

Meanwhile, Monaco are reeling from a humbling 6-1 defeat to Real Madrid, a match that ended their five-game unbeaten run in the competition and dashed hopes of an automatic top-eight finish.

Now, Sébastien Pocognoli’s squad must shift focus to salvaging a seeded play-off berth, sitting just one point above 25th place and battling the threat of early elimination.

January has been unkind for the Red and Whites, with three losses in five matches, and they will be desperate to avoid three straight home defeats for the first time since March 2023.

Juventus Riding Momentum, Monaco Seeking Revival

Juventus, on the other hand, began their Champions League campaign with a winless streak but have bounced back impressively, winning three successive matches to climb to 15th in the table, just a point shy of the top eight.

Luciano Spalletti’s side is chasing a fourth straight European victory—a feat they haven’t achieved since November 2021—and will draw confidence from recent defensive solidity, keeping four clean sheets in five competitive games, including a 3-0 triumph over Serie A champions Napoli.

Historically, Juventus have dominated Monaco, winning four of their six meetings this century and remaining unbeaten in the last four head-to-heads, with three clean sheets.

While Monaco struggle to score more than once at home and have been plagued by recent injuries, Juventus have thrived on the road, keeping three clean sheets in four away matches and often dominating the second half.

Players like Kenan Yıldız have been decisive for the Old Lady, winning six of eight matches in which he has scored this season. With form, fitness, and history on their side, Juventus enter Monaco with a clear edge, but the home side will be eager to bounce back in a high-stakes European clash.
