“Khephren wants me at Juventus”

Maghnes Akliouche, the talented French winger born in 2002 and currently playing for Monaco, remains in the spotlight amid growing transfer speculation involving Galatasaray and interest from other top European clubs.

Meanwhile, Khephren Thuram has reportedly tried—half jokingly—to convince his close friend to join him at Juventus, but for now the Monaco star is not responding to such suggestions.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Akliouche opened up about his future, ambitions, and inspirations, while keeping his next move deliberately open-ended.

Maghnes Akliouche : “I Will Decide After the World Cup”

The French winger from Monaco (born in 2002) stated in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport:

“Khephren is a great friend who helped me a lot during the most difficult moments at Monaco. It’s true that, sometimes, joking a bit, he asked me to join him at Juventus. I’m happy with what he is doing in Turin.”

“All leagues are difficult; even in Serie A it is not easy to win. I believe all leagues are beautiful and interesting, even to play in.”

“I think testing yourself in the Champions League is fundamental for a player: unfortunately, with Monaco we only reached the Conference League. I will decide my future after the World Cup. The goal is to go as far as possible; we know that the French dream of a third star like us, and we want to bring the trophy back to France.”

“Deschamps simply asks me to be myself, to let my game speak, and to contribute whenever I have the opportunity.”

“My role models? Zidane, Özil for their passing quality, Iniesta for his vision — he was incredible. They all saw things before others, and without being the most physical or athletic, they anticipated the game mentally and created it. That’s why they were so fascinating.”

“I describe myself as a technically skilled player who creates chances through dribbling, passing, and shooting. Among my favourite technical moves are the roulette, the step-over, and the no-look pass. But nowadays I’ve also added high pressing and defensive coverage, which are essential in off-the-ball phases in modern football.”
