Juventus make concrete move for Lucumí

Juventus have identified Bologna center-back Jhon Lucumí as one of their key defensive targets ahead of the new season, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Colombian international has emerged as a serious option for the Turin giants as they continue shaping the squad to meet the demands of new head coach Luciano Spalletti.

The Bianconeri have already made initial inquiries about the defender, whose profile is highly appreciated by Spalletti.

Juventus are believed to value Lucumí’s physical strength, defensive intelligence, and ability to perform consistently at both domestic and European level.

The club sees him as a player capable of strengthening the back line and helping restore the team’s ambitions of competing for major trophies.

Bologna Preparing for Lucumí Exit

There is growing acceptance within Bologna that this could be the summer in which Lucumí leaves the club.

The 26-year-old defender has attracted attention with his performances over the last campaign, and his situation is particularly interesting because of a release clause reportedly set at €28 million.

That clause is only valid until mid-July, meaning interested clubs may need to act quickly if they want to secure his signature under those conditions.

Bologna are aware of the increasing interest surrounding the Colombian and could soon face important decisions regarding his future if formal negotiations begin.

Strong Season in Italy and Europe

Lucumí enjoyed another impressive campaign in Bologna colors, establishing himself as one of the team’s most reliable defenders.

In Serie A, he made 29 appearances and contributed one goal, while also playing a key role in the club’s defensive stability throughout the season.

His impact was equally important on the European stage. During Bologna’s Europa League run to the quarter-finals, Lucumí featured in 10 matches and provided one assist, demonstrating his value on both ends of the pitch.

With Juventus actively searching for reinforcements and Lucumí fitting the profile requested by Spalletti, the Colombian defender is becoming a name to watch closely in the coming weeks as the transfer market gathers momentum.
