Juventus are intensifying efforts to sign Canadian striker Jonathan David, a key target also on Manchester United’s radar. The 25-year-old has exited Lille after a standout season, scoring 25 goals and helping his team to a fifth-place finish in Ligue 1.

Now a free agent, Jonathan David is drawing interest from several European clubs eager to strengthen their attacking options without incurring a transfer fee.

The Italian giants are reportedly ahead in the pursuit and have made a formal contract offer. According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus proposed a five-year deal worth €6 million per season, plus a €15 million signing bonus.

However, the offer appears to fall short of the demands set by David’s representatives, who aim to secure a more lucrative agreement.

Despite Juventus’ proactive approach, the striker has shown a preference for a move to the Premier League. This opens a possible window for Manchester United, although they have yet to act decisively.

Premier League move still possible?

Manchester United have tracked David for some time, viewing him as a low-cost solution to their ongoing scoring struggles. With Rasmus Højlund underwhelming last season, new manager Ruben Amorim is keen to bring in proven firepower.

David’s ability to score consistently—109 goals and 30 assists in 232 appearances for Lille—makes him a compelling option.

However, United’s current focus is reportedly on Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres. A formal bid is believed to be in preparation, which might indicate that David is no longer the club’s priority.

Juventus remain hopeful they can secure David’s signature, but they may need to increase their offer to meet expectations. The striker’s next move will likely depend on whether Premier League clubs finally make concrete approaches.

For now, David waits, weighing offers while keeping an eye on both Italy and England.
