A sensational report has reignited speculation over a possible return to Turin for Paulo Dybala.

With the Argentine forward’s contract set to expire on June 30, his future at Roma remains uncertain, opening the door to an unexpected scenario involving his former club, Juventus.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Fabiana Della Valle, Juventus executives have taken advantage of the current stalemate in renewal talks between Dybala and Roma to make direct inquiries with the player’s representatives.

At this stage, the contact is believed to be nothing more than an exploratory approach. However, it could pave the way for one of the most surprising transfer stories of the summer.

Roma Talks at a Standstill

Despite a mutual desire to continue together, Roma and Dybala have yet to reach an agreement over a new deal.

The Giallorossi have reportedly offered a contract worth €2.5 million per season plus bonuses, while Dybala is seeking €3 million annually, along with an option to extend the deal for an additional year.

With time running out and no agreement in sight, Juventus are closely monitoring the situation.

Could “La Joya” Really Return?

Dybala’s bond with Juventus has never faded. During his seven-year spell in Turin, the Argentine made more than 200 appearances, scored 82 goals and inherited the iconic No. 10 shirt once worn by Alessandro Del Piero.

Juventus struggled for creativity in the final third throughout last season. Aside from Kenan Yildiz, the Bianconeri often lacked a player capable of unlocking defences or changing games with a moment of brilliance.

Dybala unquestionably possesses those qualities, despite the injury issues that have affected him in recent years.

Whether a deal becomes a realistic possibility now depends largely on Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali, who has been working on a significant squad overhaul since arriving at the club.

A move for Dybala could appear to contradict the club’s strategy of rejuvenating the squad, but market opportunities of this calibre are rarely ignored.
