Barcelona are reportedly considering a move for Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso as they prepare for the possibility of Alejandro Balde leaving the club during the January transfer window.

Strengthening the defensive line is expected to be one of Barcelona’s main priorities this winter, particularly after a series of injury problems have affected Hansi Flick’s squad.

According to Esport3, citing reports from Italy, the Catalan giants are seriously monitoring Cambiaso’s situation and could be ready to make an offer worth between €25 million and €30 million.

However, Juventus are understood to value the Italian international at around €40 million, meaning negotiations could prove complicated.

Barcelona Consider Including Balde in Cambiaso Deal

Balde’s uncertain future at Camp Nou could play an important role in Barcelona’s pursuit of the Juventus defender. The Spanish left-back has reportedly lost some prominence under Flick and could consider leaving in January.

Roma have already been linked with an interest in signing him on an initial loan deal with an option to buy. With his future uncertain, Barcelona could explore the possibility of including Balde in negotiations with Juventus as part of a potential player-exchange agreement.

Such an arrangement could help bridge the financial gap between the two clubs’ valuations and make Cambiaso’s arrival in Barcelona more affordable.

Arsenal and Manchester City Also Monitoring Cambiaso

At 25, Cambiaso offers several qualities that make him an attractive option for Flick. His versatility allows him to operate on either side of the defence, while his attacking instincts, pace and ability to provide width make him particularly valuable in modern football.

Nevertheless, the Italian has also experienced a difficult period in Turin after an ankle injury kept him out of action for several weeks.

Barcelona will also have to contend with competition from the Premier League, with both Arsenal and Manchester City reportedly keeping a close eye on his situation.

The difference between Juventus’ €40 million valuation and Barcelona’s potential offer remains a major obstacle. However, the possibility of involving Balde in the deal could provide an interesting solution and potentially bring the two clubs closer to an agreement.
