Juventus are close to completing a major overhaul of their goalkeeping department. With Guglielmo Vicario set to become the club’s new first-choice goalkeeper, the Bianconeri now have just one piece of the puzzle left: finding his deputy.
According to Goal Italia, Juventus appear to have completed their search and identified Kamil Grabara as the ideal candidate to become Vicario’s backup.

Grabara: From Liverpool Prospect to Bundesliga Regular
Born in 1999 and standing at 195cm tall, Grabara attracted attention from an early age and was signed by Liverpool when he was just 17.
However, he never made his competitive debut for the Reds, spending time on loan before eventually completing a permanent move to FC Copenhagen.
It was in Denmark that Grabara truly established himself, producing impressive performances in the Champions League and earning a reputation as a highly reliable goalkeeper.
In 2022, he suffered a serious injury and has since regularly played wearing a protective mask, which has become one of his trademarks.
For the past two seasons, Grabara has been the first-choice goalkeeper at Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, although the club suffered a surprising relegation last season.
Despite his imposing 195cm frame, Grabara is an explosive goalkeeper with excellent reactions and has also developed a strong reputation for saving penalties.

That quality was particularly evident last season, when he saved three of the 12 penalties he faced in the Bundesliga. He had already made headlines in 2022 by denying Riyad Mahrez from the spot during Copenhagen’s 0-0 home draw against Manchester City, who would go on to become European champions.
Szczesny’s Recommendation Could Be Key
Grabara has also received strong praise from a familiar name to Juventus supporters: Wojciech Szczesny.
While discussing Grabara’s omission from Poland’s squad for the World Cup playoffs, Szczesny was highly complimentary of his compatriot:
“I don’t want to put the coach in an uncomfortable position, but I believe the best Polish goalkeeper was not called up. He has the potential to be clearly better than the others and become a world-class player.”
Interestingly, Szczesny himself is reportedly the person who recommended Grabara to Juventus in recent weeks.
With Vicario set to take over as the new No. 1, Juventus could now turn to Grabara to complete their goalkeeping revolution and provide strong competition and reliable cover between the posts.
