Juventus are preparing to officially begin the new Serie A season, but while attention turns toward the opening fixture against Frosinone, the club’s management remains fully focused on the transfer market.

The Bianconeri are still looking to strengthen the squad with further additions while also trying to reduce the number of players in the squad.

One of the names increasingly expected to leave Turin is Nico Gonzalez. The Argentine winger appears to be pushing strongly for an exit, with his preferred destination reportedly being Atletico Madrid, where he spent last season on loan.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gonzalez has made it clear that he would like to return to Madrid and reunite with Diego Simeone.

His desire to go back to Atletico has reportedly influenced his approach to other offers, including one from Turkey.

Gonzalez Rejects Besiktas as Juventus Wait for Atletico

Besiktas had shown concrete interest in Gonzalez and made an approach for the player, but the Argentine reportedly rejected the possibility of moving to Istanbul.

The Turkish club had been exploring a deal at the request of coach Vincenzo Italiano, yet Gonzalez was not convinced by the destination.

For Juventus, the situation creates another complication during the final stages of the transfer window. The club would ideally like to find a solution quickly, particularly because Gonzalez remains an important asset whose departure could help create space both in the squad and financially.

Atletico Madrid remain the destination most attractive to the player, but there is still uncertainty over whether the Spanish side will make a concrete proposal.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Atletico could wait until the final days of the market before attempting to bring Gonzalez back, potentially leaving Juventus facing a difficult last-minute negotiation.

The Bianconeri therefore have to remain patient while evaluating alternative solutions. Atalanta are also monitoring the situation and could potentially enter the race.

For now, Gonzalez’s future remains unresolved. His preference appears clear, but Juventus will ultimately need an offer that works for the club as well.

With the transfer window approaching its final stages, the Argentine’s next move could become one of the key stories surrounding Juventus.
