Filip Kostic, the Serbian international winger born in 1992, has regained a key role at Juventus under coach Luciano Spalletti. His performances on the field have sparked discussions about a potential contract extension, with his current deal set to expire in June.

According to football journalist Nico Schira, Kostic is interested in a two-year renewal. However, he remains flexible in negotiations.

The player might also agree to a shorter extension—just one season—with an option to extend for an additional year. This approach would allow both Kostic and Juventus to assess future plans carefully before committing long-term.

Juventus open to negotiations

Juventus reportedly favors the one-year extension with an optional additional season. This solution gives the club more flexibility while keeping a valuable player in the squad. The club could also use this arrangement as a stepping stone to open formal negotiations to retain Kostic beyond June.

Kostic’s versatility and work rate on the wing have made him an essential asset for Spalletti’s system. His ability to deliver assists, stretch defenses, and create goal-scoring opportunities has strengthened Juventus’ attacking options.

It’s no surprise that the club wants to maintain continuity in this position while exploring all contractual possibilities. The coming weeks will be crucial for both parties. Discussions are expected to focus on balancing Kostic’s desires with the club’s strategic plans.

A mutually beneficial agreement could see the Serbian star remain in Turin for at least another season, with the potential to extend further if both sides are satisfied.

Kostic’s performance this season has proven he still has much to offer, and a successful negotiation could secure stability for Juventus’ squad heading into future campaigns.

With Nico Schira reporting on these ongoing talks, updates are likely to follow soon, giving supporters insight into how Juventus plans to retain one of its key attacking players.
