Juventus are preparing to make a serious move for Stuttgart defender Jeff Chabot this summer. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian giants see Chabot as a key addition to their defensive line.

The 27-year-old German centre-back enjoyed a fantastic Bundesliga campaign. Since joining Stuttgart from FC Köln for €4 million, he has become a crucial player in Sebastian Hoeneß’s starting eleven.

Chabot’s consistent displays have made him one of the most reliable defenders in Germany. Juventus reportedly want to secure his services for around €15 million.

However, Stuttgart are under no pressure to sell. Chabot’s current contract runs until 2028, giving the German side full control over negotiations. If Stuttgart choose to cash in, they can demand a higher transfer fee.

Stuttgart unlikely to accept low offers for Jeff Chabot

Stuttgart value Chabot highly after his impressive performances last season. Reports suggest the club will demand a fee closer to €20-25 million to even consider a sale.

Juventus had shown interest as early as January but failed to make a concrete offer at that time. Now, with their defensive rebuild underway, the Italian club is expected to push harder.

Chabot has become a defensive leader under coach Sebastian Hoeneß. Stuttgart view him as irreplaceable unless a significant offer is made.

Selling him would weaken their backline ahead of a demanding Bundesliga and European campaign. Juventus, on the other hand, see Chabot’s strength and discipline as perfect for their Serie A ambitions.

With Juventus restructuring under new management, defensive reinforcements are a priority.

Chabot’s physicality and reading of the game fit well with Juventus’ traditional defensive style. While negotiations could drag on, the Bianconeri are determined to test Stuttgart’s resolve.

The summer transfer window remains long, and surprises can still happen. However, Stuttgart hold all the cards for now. Juventus must decide whether to meet their valuation or look elsewhere.
