Juventus made contacts with Atletico Madrid striker

Juventus have reportedly explored the possibility of signing Alexander Sørloth, but the deal appears far from straightforward.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Italian club made initial inquiries about the Atletico Madrid striker while assessing attacking options ahead of the winter transfer window.

However, this interest should be seen more as background information rather than an active negotiation taking place right now.

Romano shared this insight on his YouTube channel, explaining that Juventus’ approach dates back several weeks.

At that time, the club was internally discussing potential opportunities to strengthen their forward line, and Sørloth’s name emerged during those conversations. Despite the curiosity, the move has never developed into a concrete operation.

Juventus’ interest and market context on Alexander Sørloth

Juventus’ technical staff briefly evaluated Sørloth as part of a broader analysis of available strikers on the market. The Norwegian forward, currently playing for Atletico Madrid, is considered a physically strong and experienced attacker, capable of fitting into different tactical systems.

These qualities made him an interesting profile for the Bianconeri as they reviewed possible reinforcements. However, Fabrizio Romano made it clear that the financial aspect represents a major obstacle.

Atletico Madrid value Sørloth at well over €30 million, a figure that Juventus are not prepared to meet, especially in January. Loan deals were never on the table, as the Spanish club are only open to a permanent transfer under their conditions.

Beyond the high asking price, other factors complicate the situation. Juventus are also monitoring different attacking profiles, and there are internal considerations regarding player movements, including the possible departure of Giacomo Raspadori from another club, which could influence market dynamics.

These elements create additional barriers that make Sørloth an unrealistic target for the current transfer window. As Romano emphasized, while Sørloth is a name Juventus have asked about, it should not be interpreted as an advanced or imminent deal.

For now, the interest remains a simple inquiry rather than a serious pursuit. Unless conditions change significantly, Sørloth is unlikely to wear the Juventus shirt in January, despite being one of the strikers the club has kept an eye on during their market evaluations.
