As soon as Juventus finalise the new strategic plan for their sporting department, Giovanni Carnevali is expected to make his first major move as the club’s new CEO and General Manager.

Dispatching a delegation to the Club World Cup to closely monitor potential transfer targets and identify market opportunities ahead of a crucial summer window.

One of the names at the top of Juventus’ shortlist is Brahim Diaz.

The Real Madrid attacking midfielder is among Morocco’s standout performers at the Club World Cup, having made a strong start to the tournament.

Morocco are aiming for a deep run, and they possess the quality to challenge the competition’s biggest sides.

Juventus are carefully evaluating Diaz’s situation, aware that he could become surplus to requirements at Real Madrid. However, the player himself is currently understood to have no intention of leaving Los Blancos.

Juventus Rebuilding Their Scouting Network

The presence of Juventus officials in the United States is expected to serve a primarily diplomatic purpose: demonstrating the club’s interest and strengthening relationships with the player’s entourage reports Giovanni Albanese.

It is a long-term strategy designed to position Juventus favourably when crucial decisions regarding Brahim Diaz future are made later in the summer. The Bianconeri, however, are not alone in the race.

Juventus’ participation at the Club World Cup would also mark the beginning of a significant shift in the club’s talent identification strategy.

Under Damien Comolli, the scouting process had become increasingly reliant on data analysis and algorithm-based evaluations, with the traditional scouting department significantly reduced and several operations outsourced to external consultants.

Carnevali is now expected to restore a top-level scouting structure. Matteo Tognozzi is widely tipped to return to Turin, potentially replacing François Modesto.

While former Sassuolo talent scout Davide Cangini — a trusted figure for Carnevali — could also join the recruitment team at Continassa.

Further changes behind the scenes are not being ruled out as Juventus look to reshape their sporting structure ahead of a new cycle.
