Juventus are preparing a bold summer move to reinforce their attack with a marquee signing. And their top target appears to be none other than Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.
The Bianconeri are reportedly ready to push all chips in to bring the Napoli star to Turin. With their transfer strategy revolving heavily around securing a world-class striker.
As reported by Alfredo Pedullà, Osimhen is not expected to remain at Napoli beyond this summer. Despite interest from Saudi clubs—most notably Al-Ahli—the striker is not inclined to make such a move at this point in his career. And preferring to remain in a top European league.

Instead, Osimhen is eyeing a transfer to Juventus and is said to be particularly drawn to the presence of Cristiano Giuntoli. The current Juventus director who previously played a key role in bringing him to Napoli.

This stance creates a delicate situation for Napoli, who are reluctant to sell a prized asset to a direct Serie A rival. However, they may be left with little choice.
Victor Osimhen : High-stakes gamble for Juventus & Napoli
Osimhen’s preference narrows their options considerably, especially given his substantial €10 million net salary. An amount that eliminates many potential suitors. To complicate matters further, the Nigerian’s €75 million release clause is reportedly only valid for foreign clubs, putting Italian teams at a disadvantage.
Napoli do have the option to extend Osimhen’s contract until 2027. Potentially allowing them to loan him out while keeping his value high. But this would trigger a wage increase to €15 million, making the situation even more unsustainable for the club financially.
Napoli have already submitted a formal proposal for the Lille forward. Though they face tough competition from other European clubs. The deal is also reportedly being complicated by high commission demands and disagreements over image rights—areas where Napoli have historically struggled during negotiations.
For Juventus, landing Osimhen would be a statement of intent—a sign that they are ready to reclaim domestic dominance and return to prominence in Europe. However, such an investment, likely exceeding €75 million, could require significant financial sacrifices elsewhere in the squad.
On the other hand, Napoli’s pursuit of Jonathan David feels ambitious. Especially considering their track record in navigating complex negotiations involving entourages and commercial rights. If they manage to pull it off, it might indicate a shift in internal dynamics, perhaps even reflecting a more hands-off approach from club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
