Juventus have reportedly taken concrete steps toward securing the future of Bernardo Silva, opening initial talks with his agent Jorge Mendes over a potential free transfer.

The Portuguese midfielder, born in 1994, is approaching the end of his contract with Manchester City, and could become one of the most attractive opportunities on the market if no renewal agreement is reached.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are prepared to present a significant contract proposal to convince Silva to join the club.

The Bianconeri see the experienced playmaker as a key piece to elevate the technical level of their midfield, bringing creativity, versatility, and leadership developed at the highest level of European football.

Champions League Qualification Key to the Deal

Despite Juventus’ strong interest, any potential agreement is closely tied to sporting objectives. Silva would reportedly consider the move in a positive light, but only if Juventus secure qualification for the next edition of the UEFA Champions League.

Playing in Europe’s top competition remains a decisive factor for the Portuguese international, who is still eager to compete at the highest level.

This condition adds further pressure on Juventus as they push to finish the season in a Champions League spot. Without it, the deal could become significantly more complicated, regardless of the financial terms offered.

Competition Growing Across Europe and Beyond

Juventus are not alone in the race. FC Barcelona have also shown interest in Bernardo Silva, continuing their long-standing admiration for the player.

In addition, several clubs from Major League Soccer are monitoring the situation, ready to make ambitious offers to lure him outside Europe.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Silva’s situation is expected to attract increasing attention.

For Juventus, the coming weeks could prove decisive—not only in negotiations, but also on the pitch, where their Champions League ambitions may ultimately determine the success of this high-profile pursuit.
