Tottenham Hotspur are currently leading the race to sign Lyon striker Georges Mikautadze ahead of the summer transfer window. Following Lyon’s relegation to Ligue 2 due to financial troubles, the 24-year-old forward is widely expected to leave the French club.

Spurs have identified Mikautadze as a key attacking option and are preparing to make a formal approach in the coming weeks.

However, the North London club will face stiff competition. According to Tutto Juve, Italian giants Juventus have also expressed strong interest in the Georgian international.

Juventus, now rebuilding under new leadership, are looking to strengthen their front line and view Mikautadze as a smart acquisition.

Georges Mikautadze – Star on the rise

Mikautadze had a breakout 2023–24 season, scoring 17 goals and providing 11 assists in 47 appearances for Lyon. His reputation was further boosted by an impressive showing at Euro 2024, where he played a key role for Georgia.

After struggling to make an impact at Ajax, the forward has successfully revived his career with consistent performances in Ligue 1.

Now, with Lyon in the second tier, Mikautadze is expected to move to a top European club this summer.

Tottenham’s interest in Mikautadze reflects their strategy of targeting younger talents with high development potential. He is seen as a possible alternative to Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke, whom Spurs have been tracking as well.

Mikautadze’s speed, link-up play, and eye for goal make him a valuable option for Ange Postecoglou’s system. Juventus, though, could offer Champions League football and a chance to compete for silverware in Italy.

Tottenham must act quickly and decisively if they want to win the race for his signature. With both clubs circling, Mikautadze’s next move could be one of the summer’s most closely watched transfer battles.
