Juventus are preparing for a busy transfer window, aiming to offload up to eight players. Their goal is to raise enough funds to pursue Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres.

The Swedish international is highly sought after, with Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United long expressing interest. However, recent reports suggest that Gyokeres rejected the chance to reunite with former Sporting coach Ruben Amorim at United.

This decision appears to give Arsenal the edge in the race. Still, Juventus have reportedly stepped in with serious intent.

The Serie A giants are said to be ready to meet Gyokeres’s substantial £11 million-per-year salary. Yet, they must first gather the €80 million fee Sporting demand—€70 million up front, with €10 million in bonuses.

Key players set to depart in Turin

To fund the transfer, Juventus are expected to part ways with several high-profile players. Dusan Vlahovic, who netted 15 goals last season, leads the list.

With just one year remaining on his contract, he could command a sizeable fee. Also up for sale is Douglas Luiz, signed from Aston Villa just a year ago. Under new manager Igor Tudor, Luiz is reportedly no longer seen as a key figure.

The club hopes to earn roughly €60 million from selling both Vlahovic and Luiz. Defender Lloyd Kelly, who joined from Newcastle United, may also be moved on after just one season. Other potential exits include Arkadiusz Milik, Filip Kostic, Mattia Perin, Daniele Rugani, and Samuel Mbangula reports Corriere dello Sport.

Gyokeres has impressed immensely since joining Sporting from Coventry City in 2023.

He has scored 97 goals and registered 28 assists in just 102 matches. Last season alone, he produced a staggering 54 goals and 13 assists across all competitions.

Juventus face tough competition but remain hopeful. If a deal for Gyokeres falls through, they may target Randal Kolo Muani, Victor Osimhen, or Jonathan David as alternatives. The club is determined to rebuild it’s squad and return to title contention next season.
