Juventus are planning a strong intervention in midfield ahead of the summer transfer window. Strengthening the central department remains a priority for the club management, who want to add a high-level player with personality and technical balance.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Morten Hjulmand remains one of the names monitored with great attention by the Bianconeri.

Hjulmand, formerly of Lecce, has become a key figure at Sporting Lisbon. He is now the captain and one of the most consistent players in the Portuguese league.

He joined Sporting three seasons ago and quickly established himself as a dominant presence in midfield. His leadership, intensity, and tactical discipline have made him one of the most valuable midfielders in Europe.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus already had an agreement in principle with Hjulmand last summer. The Danish midfielder was prepared to accept a contract worth around three million euros per year.

However, Sporting postponed any outgoing negotiations after selling striker Viktor Gyökeres to Arsenal, deciding to delay further major transfers.

Hjulmand would welcome a return to Serie A. He sees Juventus as an ideal step in his career, combining ambition, history, and a competitive environment.

Juventus are expected to reopen talks in June and plan to negotiate directly with Sporting. The club believe he fits perfectly into their project and can become a long-term core midfielder.

The Danish international is under contract until 2029. His deal includes an 80-million-euro release clause. Juventus will probably not reach that figure, but they will need to make a substantial offer.

Current expectations suggest that Sporting may need to be convinced with a proposal between 50 and 60 million euros to release their captain. The transfer would represent a major investment, but Juventus see Hjulmand as a cornerstone capable of elevating their midfield structure.

His ability to break play, protect the defense, and distribute the ball with precision could provide the balance the team is searching for. The coming months will determine whether initial interest becomes a decisive move, as Juventus prepare for a key market battle that could shape their tactical evolution for years ahead.
