Jonathan David, talks ongoing with new club

Jonathan David‘s future at Juventus appears increasingly uncertain, with Paris FC emerging as a potential destination for the Canadian striker.

According to Nicolò Schira, the newly promoted Ligue 1 side has shown interest after the 25-year-old was offered to the French club through an intermediary, opening the door to negotiations in the coming weeks.

David is coming off a disappointing FIFA Club World Cup campaign. Although he scored three goals in five appearances, all of them came against Qatar, while he failed to find the net in the other four matches and struggled to make a significant impact.

Rather than boosting his market value, the tournament has done little to increase demand for the former Lille forward.

Juventus Seeking a Solution

Juventus are actively working on finding David a new club, primarily to reduce their wage bill.

The striker reportedly earns €6 million per season plus up to €2 million in bonuses, and his contract runs until 2029-30, with an option to extend it until 2031.

Those financial terms significantly limit the number of clubs capable of completing a permanent transfer without requesting financial assistance from the Bianconeri.

A move to Turkey has already been ruled out. Trabzonspor, who are looking to strengthen their attack ahead of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, made initial enquiries about the striker.

However, David reportedly rejected the opportunity, believing that the Turkish Super Lig does not match his sporting ambitions.

Return to France Becoming a Real Possibility

A return to Ligue 1 now appears to be the most realistic scenario. David enjoyed the best years of his career with Lille, where he established himself as one of the league’s most prolific forwards, making France an attractive destination once again.

According to Nicolò Schira, Paris FC are seriously considering adding a high-profile striker to their squad, and David’s profile has received positive feedback within the club.

Discussions remain at an early stage, but there is growing optimism that exploratory contacts could soon develop into formal negotiations.

Juventus are reportedly hoping to receive between €20 million and €30 million for the Canadian international, a fee that would also generate a valuable capital gain for the club after what has largely been viewed as one of the most disappointing signings of their recent transfer windows.

Meanwhile, Juventus are also exploring options for Lois Openda. The Belgian forward has attracted loan interest from Lens, although the French club would reportedly require financial assistance from Juventus to cover part of his salary.
