Juventus are preparing to open negotiations with Bologna for Colombian international Jhon Lucumí, with the Bianconeri hoping to secure the defender on more favorable financial terms once his €28 million release clause expires.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Turin giants believe they will have a stronger negotiating position after the clause becomes inactive, allowing them to pursue a deal below the previously fixed valuation.

Lucumí has emerged as one of Juventus’ primary defensive targets as the club continues reshaping its squad ahead of the new season.

The 27-year-old center-back has impressed with his consistency, composure on the ball, and defensive intelligence, making him an attractive option for a Juventus side eager to strengthen the heart of its backline.

Juventus Ready to Use Adzic in Negotiations

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Juventus are not only aiming to reduce the transfer fee but are also considering including a player in the deal to convince Bologna to lower their demands.

The name currently being discussed is Vasilije Adzic, the highly rated Montenegro international born in 2006.

Adzic is regarded as one of the club’s brightest young prospects, but opportunities in the first team appear limited due to the intense competition in midfield.

Juventus had initially planned to send the teenager out on loan to gain valuable playing time and continue his development.

However, the possibility of using him as part of the negotiations for Lucumí has now become a realistic scenario.

Bologna Shift Focus as Deal Gains Momentum

The potential inclusion of Adzic has become increasingly significant because Bologna are no longer believed to be pursuing Fabio Miretti.

The Italian midfielder has reportedly entered Parma’s radar as discussions continue over another transfer involving striker Mateo Pellegrino, prompting Bologna to explore alternative profiles.

That change in strategy could work in Juventus’ favor, with Adzic now emerging as a player capable of satisfying Bologna’s demands while helping the Bianconeri reduce the overall cost of signing Lucumí.

Although negotiations are still in the early stages, Juventus are expected to intensify contacts in the coming days.

With Lucumí viewed as a key reinforcement for the defense and Bologna potentially open to a player-plus-cash formula, the deal could quickly become one of the most intriguing transfer stories of the summer.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the expiration of the release clause may prove to be the turning point that allows Juventus to push decisively for the Colombian defender.
