The January mercato is over, and we now have a recap of everything that happened in January.

However, from now on, Juventus is thinking about the summer transfer window. What are Giuntoli’s plans, moves, and tactics? All of this is summarized by two transfer experts, Nico Schira and Mirko Di Natale.

Let starts with defender

The first defender considered by Juventus was Skriniar but his salary prevented the deal. After Bremer’s injury the board got together with the coach and decided to pursue a younger, low cost option.

Juventus targeted Hancko next, the Bianconeri will continue negotiate his transfer with Feyenoord for the summer.

After this intermediaries began to offer their clients, like Mendes with Antonio Silva who thought they could convince Benfica. Obviously this didn’t work.

When the opportunity for Araujo came up. Juventus seriously believed they could go for the player since they had an agreement with the Uruguayan and he is represented by the same agents of Kolo Muani. Araujo’s agents used Juventus interest to speed up his renewal at Barcelona. Juventus never made an offer.

Manchester City first contacted Cambiaso in late fall and their first meeting was during the Champions League match. I can confirm that City will go for the Italian international in the summer. Due to legal situations around the club, it’s possible they prioritized other names and never made an offer to Juventus.

During the negotiations for Randal Kolo Muani, there was talk of Juventus recovering an opportunity to negotiate with PSG at the end of the Mercato to keep the Frenchmen.

Unlike Kolo Muani, who has the opportunity for summer negotiations, Veiga does not have such an option.

While there appears to be some tension between them, as is common in most teams, Motta persists in featuring Gatti in every match. Talks about his contract extension began after the summer, and it was anticipated that an agreement would be reached before the conclusion of the current transfer window. It remains uncertain whether the renewal will be finalized now that the market has closed, or if Gatti could be sold in the upcoming summer.

Gatti cost Juventus little as he was bought for €10 and they could make a significant capital gain from this sale. His price tag is €25m. Additionally, we must consider the extensive list of defenders for next season, which includes returning loan players and those Juventus is monitoring: Cabal, Bremer, Kelly, Cambiaso, Savona, Costa, Rouhi, Djalo, and Rugani (who won’t stay because Motta does not want him), along with Comuzzo and Hancko.

Conceicao and Kalulu are both set to be acquired outright in the transfer window before the Club World Cup.

Juventus has a strong interest in Comuzzo, who is well-regarded, but as of now, there is no preemptive agreement. His price is expected to be around €50 million before Napoli and Premier League teams enter the fray.

Juventus has not pursued Antonio Conte. Although Conte had the support of Nedved for a Juventus return in 2018, Paratici favored Sarri, and ultimately Agnelli decided against bringing Conte back.

Juventus followed Lucca, Frendrup and Paz through scouts.

Tonali was explored both as an exchange piece for Luiz and to understand if in the summer he’d like a change of scenery.
