Juventus are exploring the possibility of signing Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak as they continue their search for a new first-choice shot-stopper ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Bianconeri have been heavily linked with Aston Villa and Argentina international Emiliano “Dibu” Martinez in recent weeks.

Reports suggest that Juventus have already reached a preliminary agreement with the goalkeeper regarding personal terms and the length of a potential contract. However, negotiations with Aston Villa remain complicated.

Aston Villa’s Valuation Creates Obstacle

According to Sportmediaset, the Premier League side are demanding around €15 million for Martinez. Juventus are reportedly reluctant to meet that valuation, considering the Argentine goalkeeper will turn 34 next season.

While the club appreciates Martinez’s experience, leadership qualities and winning mentality, the current asking price is viewed as excessive for a player of his age.

As a result, Juventus have started evaluating alternative options, with Atletico Madrid veteran Jan Oblak emerging as a serious candidate.

Oblak Enters Juventus Shortlist

The Slovenia international remains one of Europe’s most respected goalkeepers despite attracting interest from several clubs across the continent.

Juventus are believed to have already opened communication channels with Atletico Madrid over separate discussions involving Alexander Sorloth and Nico Gonzalez.

Those existing talks could provide an opportunity to broaden negotiations and include Oblak in a wider deal.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper brings a wealth of experience at the highest level, having spent more than a decade with Atletico Madrid and established himself as one of La Liga’s standout performers.

For now, Martinez remains Juventus’ preferred target, but with Aston Villa holding firm on their demands, the Turin giants are keeping their options open. The coming days could prove decisive as the club intensifies its search for a new goalkeeper.
