Arthur Melo, the Brazilian midfielder is rediscovering his top form with the Catalan club, and there’s growing interest in securing his future.

Girona is actively assessing the possibility of signing Arthur Melo on a permanent deal once his loan spell concludes in June.

The Brazilian, who arrived from Juventus on the final day of the winter transfer window, is steadily earning minutes under Míchel and impressing both the coaching staff and club management.

According to Estadio Deportivo, Girona’s sporting director, Quique Cárcel, alongside Míchel, specifically targeted Arthur to bolster the midfield.

However, the transfer was only completed in the final moments of the window due to the player’s high salary and Juventus’ conditions. To make the move possible, Arthur agreed to a pay cut, enabling Girona to cover around 50% of his wages.

Arthur Melo – Establishing himself in Girona’s midfield

Since making his debut, Arthur has gradually taken on a more significant role, featuring in matches against Getafe, Real Madrid, and Celta.

His presence has brought added control and fluidity to the team’s play, making him an increasingly valuable asset. As a result, Girona is seriously considering a permanent move for the midfielder.

However, finalizing the deal won’t be simple. Arthur remains under contract with Juventus until 2027, and his salary continues to be a challenge.

While both the Italian club and the player seem open to parting ways, any definitive agreement will depend on the outcome of negotiations between all parties involved.
