Arsenal are reportedly preparing to initiate formal discussions with Juventus regarding a potential summer transfer for striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to Italian outlet Tutto Juve.

The Gunners have long admired the Serbian international. And having previously expressed strong interest in signing him during his time at Fiorentina. However, Vlahovic ultimately chose to join Juventus instead of making the move to North London.

Since arriving in Turin, the striker has faced challenges and now appears to be out of favor under new manager Thiago Motta. Particularly following the winter arrival of Randal Kolo Muani. Despite this, Vlahovic has still managed to contribute 14 goals and two assists in 26 appearances across all competitions this season.

With just 16 months remaining on his contract and extension talks reportedly collapsing. Juventus may be forced to sell him this summer rather than risk losing him for free next year.

Arsenal interest on Dusan Vlahovic

Despite his inconsistent spell in Italy, Arsenal remain keen on Vlahovic. And are looking to take advantage of his uncertain future by opening negotiations with Juventus. While the Serie A club initially hoped to secure a substantial transfer fee, they may be compelled to accept a reduced offer in the region of 30 milion euro.

Currently, Arsenal’s striking options include Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. But neither has consistently delivered the goal-scoring prowess needed to push the team towards their ambitions. Furthermore, both players have suffered significant injuries, ruling them out for the rest of the season.

Standing at 6ft 3in, Vlahovic remains a promising talent at just 25 years old. A move to a new club could provide him with the fresh start he needs to rediscover his best form.

With Arsenal in need of a reliable goal scorer and Vlahovic potentially available at a cut-price deal, securing his signature could prove to be a smart investment for the North London club.
