Napoli remain interested in signing Federico Gatti as they continue to assess defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Juventus centre-back is highly admired by manager Massimiliano Allegri, who previously coached the Italian defender during his time in Turin.

While Juventus are not actively pushing Gatti towards the exit, the report suggests the Bianconeri would be willing to consider offers for the 1998-born defender.

However, any potential transfer would require a significant financial commitment, with Juventus valuing the Italy international at more than €20 million.

Buongiorno Injury Could Accelerate Napoli’s Move

At this stage, Napoli have not opened formal negotiations with Juventus over Gatti’s transfer. Nevertheless, the situation could evolve quickly depending on the condition of Alessandro Buongiorno, who recently suffered a knee injury.

Should Buongiorno require surgery and face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Napoli could intensify their pursuit of Gatti.

With extensive Serie A experience and proven reliability at the highest level, the Juventus defender is viewed as an ideal candidate to strengthen Allegri’s defensive department immediately.

Juventus Await Developments on Gatti

For now, Juventus are in no rush to make a decision regarding Gatti’s future. The Turin club continue to rate the defender highly and will only entertain offers that meet their valuation of over €20 million.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are keeping a close eye on the situation, and Buongiorno’s recovery could prove decisive in determining whether the Partenopei launch a concrete move for one of Juventus’ most experienced defenders before the transfer window closes.
