Juventus and AC Milan recently explored a potential swap deal involving Dusan Vlahovic and Theo Hernandez. However, the talks fell flat due to the high wage demands of the Serbian striker, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Juventus are currently in a transitional phase, and new sporting director Damien Comolli has yet to engage with Vlahovic or his representatives.

Despite this, the club is aware that a contract renewal seems unlikely. As a result, they are open to selling the striker this summer.

However, the move is expected to be slow. Juventus are hoping that a club willing to meet Vlahovic’s salary expectations will emerge eventually.

High demands, low interest

During preliminary discussions, Vlahovic’s camp indicated he might accept a three-year deal with €8.5 million net per season—down from his current €12 million.

Still, this figure remains too steep for Milan, especially under their current wage structure. Meanwhile, Juventus would reportedly find Theo Hernandez’s demands more manageable in comparison.

The Bianconeri are awaiting updates from Vlahovic’s entourage, who are actively searching for a suitable buyer. The Premier League remains his preferred destination, but interest there has been underwhelming so far. Milan could re-enter negotiations later in the window if better offers fail to materialize.

There was also a moment when Juventus considered a swap with Napoli involving Victor Osimhen. In that deal, Vlahovic would’ve been valued at €30-40 million, and Osimhen at €75 million.

However, the plan collapsed when Antonio Conte opted to stay at Napoli, nullifying the chances of Max Allegri taking over there.

At this stage, it’s doubtful that Vlahovic will agree to a contract under €10 million annually. Only a handful of clubs can offer that kind of money.

Juventus are aware they must eventually part ways, but they are prepared to wait for the right opportunity. A player trade still appears to be the most realistic and effective exit strategy.
