The future of Sandro Tonali is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing storylines of the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Italian midfielder has drawn significant attention from several elite clubs across Europe, particularly from the Premier League, while Juventus are also closely monitoring his situation as they look to reinforce their midfield options.

So far, Newcastle United have remained firm in their stance, showing no real intention of letting the player leave. However, according to BBC Sport, the situation could evolve significantly once the current season concludes.

Much will depend on whether Newcastle manage to secure qualification for the next edition of the UEFA Champions League.

Champions League Qualification Could Be Decisive

Newcastle’s current position in the league table leaves their European ambitions hanging in the balance. With seven matches remaining and 21 points still up for grabs, the Magpies find themselves in 12th place, trailing the fifth spot—currently held by Liverpool—by seven points.

That position represents the final gateway to Champions League qualification, making the remaining fixtures crucial for the club’s financial and sporting future.

Failure to secure a place among Europe’s elite could have serious consequences. Reports suggest that Newcastle may be forced to consider the sale of key players to balance their finances.

Alongside Tonali, names such as Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento have also been mentioned as potential departures in such a scenario.

Juventus Ready to Capitalize

For Juventus, this uncertainty presents a potential opportunity. The Italian giants are keen to rebuild a competitive squad capable of challenging both domestically and in Europe.

Tonali, with his vision, composure, and tactical intelligence, is seen as an ideal addition to elevate their midfield. Should Newcastle miss out on Champions League qualification and open the door to negotiations, Juventus are expected to move swiftly.

While no formal talks have been confirmed, the coming weeks could prove decisive in determining whether Tonali remains a key figure at Newcastle or becomes one of the headline transfers of the summer.
