Juventus are preparing to accelerate their transfer activity following the appointment of Massara as the club’s new technical director.

With the management structure now in place, the Bianconeri are expected to move decisively in the market, and strengthening the defense remains one of the club’s primary objectives ahead of the new season.

According to La Repubblica, Juventus are searching for an experienced, high-level central defender capable of bringing leadership and quality to Luciano Spalletti’s backline.

While several names have been linked with the Turin giants in recent weeks, one player appears to have emerged as the coach’s preferred option.

Spalletti Pushes for Kim Min-jae Reunion

Recent reports suggested that former Manchester City defender John Stones, now a free agent after leaving the Premier League champions, was under consideration.

However, despite his undeniable quality and experience at the highest level, concerns over his injury record have reportedly cooled Juventus’ interest.

Instead, La Repubblica claims that Spalletti would much rather reunite with Kim Min-jae, the South Korean international who played a key role under the Italian coach during Napoli’s memorable Serie A title-winning campaign.

Spalletti knows Kim’s qualities better than most and believes the defender would fit perfectly into his tactical system while providing the consistency and physical presence Juventus are looking for.

The report adds that Bayern Munich do not consider Kim untouchable and would be willing to evaluate suitable offers for the defender.

That situation could open the door for Juventus to launch an approach in the coming weeks if the club decides to make the South Korean their top defensive target.

The next move is expected to come from Juventus chief executive Giovanni Carnevali, who will likely be tasked with opening discussions with the German champions.

Although negotiations are yet to begin, Kim is reportedly one of the names at the top of the club’s shortlist as Juventus look to reinforce their squad with proven international talent and provide Spalletti with a reliable defensive leader for the upcoming campaign.
