Spalletti’s dream midfielder is …

Forza Juventus

Juventus are shaping their new sporting project around a very clear idea, with Luciano Spalletti leading the technical vision and outlining a key summer target: Stanislav Lobotka.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a recent transfer summit in Forte dei Marmi involving Spalletti and CEO Giovanni Carnevali helped define the club’s market direction, with the Slovak midfielder emerging as the main obsession for the new Juventus coach.

Lobotka: The Midfield Regista at the Center of Spalletti’s Project

The interest in Lobotka is far from random. Under Spalletti at Napoli, the Slovak midfielder was a crucial tactical reference point in the team that won the Serie A title in 2022–23.

Spalletti’s plan is to strengthen Juventus’ technical quality in midfield, adding players capable of building play cleanly from deep.

This would also allow Manuel Locatelli to move away from the sole responsibility of being the deep-lying playmaker and instead develop into a more complete mezzala with defensive and box-to-box duties.

Difficult Negotiation Ahead and Juventus’ Wider Transfer Strategy

However, the path to signing Lobotka is extremely complicated. The midfielder is under contract with Napoli until 2027, and although he was previously open to a move, recent managerial changes have altered the situation, making a contract extension more likely.

Juventus cannot activate his €25 million release clause, as it is valid only for foreign clubs.

Any deal would therefore require direct negotiations with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who is expected to demand around €30 million.

Before making major investments, Juventus must first reduce their squad and balance finances.
