Paul Pogba, the former Juventus and Manchester United star, is reportedly on the verge of joining Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.

The French midfielder, once considered among the best in the world. And he has not played a competitive match in nearly two seasons due to injury struggles and a lengthy suspension.

His ban, imposed by FIFA after a positive test for testosterone, has recently been lifted, clearing the way for a return to football.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Monaco have made significant progress in discussions for Pogba’s transfer. Initial inquiries were made by the club to assess the player’s situation, and recent talks have been more promising.

The 2018 World Cup winner is reportedly eager to make a fresh start and resume his career in France. Where he originally made his name as a youth player at Le Havre.

Paul Pogba’s second spell at Juventus was marred by injuries and controversy. Despite high expectations upon his return from Manchester United, he failed to make a meaningful impact.

His only appearance in the 2023/24 season ended abruptly after he tested positive for testosterone, leading to a suspension that sidelined him for the entire campaign.

Now 32, Pogba is determined to return to top-level football and demonstrate his enduring quality. Monaco see him as a potential leader both on and off the pitch.
