Juventus are facing an important decision regarding the future of Belgian striker Lois Openda.

According to Calciomercato, the 2000-born forward could be heading toward an uncertain path in Turin, with his long-term stay at the club far from guaranteed.

An Obligation to Buy, But Not to Keep?

As reported by Calciomercato, the Bianconeri are contractually obliged to redeem Openda’s transfer from RB Leipzig.

However, Juventus’ management have reportedly been left disappointed by the Belgian international’s performances so far. While flashes of quality have emerged, consistency has been lacking, and expectations in Turin are always high.

Despite the mandatory purchase clause, this does not necessarily guarantee Openda’s permanence at the club. Juventus could opt to send the striker out on loan during the summer transfer window, potentially structuring a deal with an option or obligation to buy.

Such a formula would allow the Italian giants to protect the player’s market value while reassessing his long-term role within the squad.

Summer 2027 Target: €30 Million

The strategic objective appears clear. Juventus are believed to be aiming to secure at least €30 million for Openda by the summer of 2027.

One possible scenario would involve negotiating a loan agreement in June, paving the way for a permanent move later on.
The coming months will be decisive.

Openda must deliver a strong response on the pitch if he wants to secure his place in the project. Without a significant improvement — a real wake-up call — Juventus are expected to seriously consider parting ways with the Belgian forward.

For now, his future remains hanging in the balance, and much will depend on how he performs between now and the end of the season.
