Nico Schira confirms: Vlahovic is in talks with two big clubs

According to Italian journalist Nicolò Schira, the future of Dusan Vlahovic at Juventus appears increasingly uncertain. The Serbian striker is expected to leave Turin at the end of the season, with his contract set to expire in June.

As a result, several European giants are now monitoring the situation closely — most notably Barcelona and Bayern Munich. In Catalonia, Barcelona’s management is already planning for life after Robert Lewandowski.

The Polish forward’s contract expires on June 30, and there is still no agreement for an extension. Given that Lewandowski will turn 38 next summer, a free departure now looks more realistic than ever.

This scenario has pushed sporting director Deco to explore potential replacements, and Vlahovic’s name has emerged among the top candidates.

Schira reports that initial contact was already made in August, when Deco held talks with the player’s agent, Darko Ristic. Barcelona view Vlahovic as an attractive long-term investment — a proven goalscorer who would arrive at just 26 years old, with no transfer fee required. For a club managing tight finances, the chance to sign a top striker for free is too good to ignore.

Barcelona, however, are not alone in the chase. Bayern Munich have also expressed interest in Vlahovic, seeking a strong alternative to Harry Kane. The English striker is expected to renew his contract, but Bayern want to ensure depth and competition in attack.

Vlahovic, however, is reportedly not thrilled about playing as a backup, which could make Barcelona a more appealing destination.

As for Juventus, a renewal now seems highly unlikely. Talks over an extension have been frozen for nine months, following a meeting in October 2024 when Ristic informed sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli that Vlahovic would not renew his contract.

Since then, the relationship between the parties has cooled completely. The striker’s departure in June now appears inevitable. While some Italian clubs, including AC Milan, have shown mild interest, the strongest signals come from abroad.

Whether it is the Camp Nou or the Allianz Arena, Vlahovic’s next chapter seems destined to unfold outside Italy.
