Mercato update by Di Marzio

Forza Juventus

As the January transfer window approaches, Juventus are already laying the groundwork to strengthen their squad, with particular attention on midfield reinforcements and attacking depth.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Bianconeri are evaluating short-term solutions that align with a broader strategy aimed at the summer market, balancing competitiveness with financial planning.

Midfield Strategy Focused on the Future

Juventus’ priority in midfield is clear: add experience and tactical balance without compromising future ambitions. One of the names currently under consideration is Guido Rodríguez of West Ham.

The 31-year-old Argentine is valued for his experience, positional discipline, and ability to dictate play in front of the defense. However, Juventus are not considering a permanent move at this stage.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the idea would be a loan deal, allowing the club to reinforce immediately while preserving budget space for a major operation in June.

That long-term objective is Sandro Tonali, currently at Newcastle. Tonali is viewed internally as the ideal centerpiece for Juventus’ midfield project going forward.

For this reason, the club is unwilling to commit significant funds in January, preferring a temporary solution like Rodríguez, who could offer immediate reliability without altering summer plans.

The approach confirms that Juventus are thinking not only about the present season, but also about building a stronger core for the next one.

Searching for a vice Yildiz

Alongside midfield planning, Juventus are also monitoring attacking options, particularly a backup for Kenan Yildiz. One profile under evaluation is Gonzalo García, a 2004-born forward currently at Real Madrid.

García impressed during the Club World Cup, showcasing technical quality and attacking instinct, but has since found limited space in Real Madrid’s crowded offensive lineup.

Juventus see him as a developmental opportunity, someone who could grow while providing rotation options. As highlighted by Gianluca Di Marzio, the formula of the deal remains open.

One possibility would be an agreement similar to the Nico Paz model, potentially involving a purchase option with a buy-back clause in favor of Real Madrid. This would allow Juventus to benefit from the player’s growth while limiting risk for both clubs.

Overall, Juventus’ transfer strategy reflects a careful balance between ambition and sustainability. Rather than impulsive spending, the club is targeting calculated moves that strengthen the squad now while keeping its eyes firmly on key objectives in the summer.
