Juventus vs Manchester City | Preview & Expected Lineup

Matchday three of Group G at the FIFA Club World Cup promises fireworks. Two in-form giants, Juventus and Manchester City meet with top spot on the line. Both have already qualified for the knockout stage, but pride and positioning remain key incentives.

Juventus have enjoyed a smooth campaign so far. They scored freely in dominant wins over Al-Ain and Wydad. That attacking form, combined with a seven-match unbeaten streak (W5, D2), makes them a serious title contender.

The Bianconeri have looked sharp, especially in the final third, finding the net 14 times in their last four games. That equals their total from the previous 14 matches combined.

City, however, are close behind. The reigning champions also secured two wins in Group G, though by a slimmer margin.

Pep Guardiola’s men are unbeaten in 14 of their last 15 outings (W11, D3), with six clean sheets in their past eight. City’s form and tactical discipline could pose a real test for Juventus’ frontline.

History favors Juventus, but City are dangerous

This marks the eighth competitive meeting between these clubs. Juventus hold the historical edge with four wins and two draws from the previous seven. They defeated City 2-0 in the Champions League earlier this season, asserting their dominance. City’s lone win against Juventus came in 1976.

Individual battles could be decisive. Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz is in red-hot form, scoring four goals in his last three games. Most of his goals have come before halftime.

On the other side, Erling Haaland is chasing a major milestone—his 300th career goal. He has scored in four straight matches across all levels.

Juventus enter this clash with a full-strength squad. Manchester City welcome Rico Lewis back from suspension, and Rodri may return to the starting lineup for the first time since September 2024.

Both teams are eyeing a statement win. This clash could be a preview of the final itself.
