After an exhausting spell of uncertainty and loan moves, Douglas Luiz could be set for another opportunity at Juventus next season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Brazilian midfielder remains part of the club’s plans despite a difficult first year in Turin.

Juventus made a major investment in Douglas Luiz during the summer of 2024, paying around €50 million to sign him from Aston Villa after several outstanding campaigns in the Premier League.
Expectations were extremely high, with many believing he would become a key figure in the Bianconeri midfield.
However, injuries and inconsistent fitness prevented him from finding rhythm during his debut season in Italy.
As a result, the midfielder returned to England on loan earlier this season, joining Nottingham Forest in search of regular minutes.
Yet his time with the Tricky Trees also failed to unfold as expected, with limited playing opportunities forcing another change in direction during the winter transfer window.
Aston Villa Revival Offers Juventus Hope
Douglas Luiz eventually made his way back to Aston Villa, where he appears to have rediscovered confidence under manager Unai Emery.

Since returning in January, the Brazilian has featured in 18 matches and has gradually become a trusted option again within Emery’s rotation.
Despite his improved form in England, the midfielder is still contractually tied to Juventus until 2029, meaning his future remains closely connected to the Italian giants.
While Aston Villa reportedly hold a purchase option, Juventus are increasingly considering reintegrating him into the squad ahead of the new campaign.
Juventus Ready to Give Luiz Another Chance
The Turin club are expected to prioritize strengthening other areas of the squad this summer, which could open the door for Douglas Luiz to stay and fight for his place.
Internally, Juventus reportedly believe the Brazilian still possesses qualities currently lacking in their midfield, particularly his technical ability, composure in possession, and tactical versatility.
After a turbulent two-year period filled with setbacks and unanswered questions, Douglas Luiz may finally have one last opportunity to prove himself at the Allianz Stadium.
