Juventus pushing to sign Brazilian future star

Juventus are reportedly stepping up their interest in Corinthians midfielder André Luiz Santos Dias, one of Brazil’s brightest young talents, as the Bianconeri continue to reshape their squad ahead of the new season under Luciano Spalletti.

According to reports cited by Goal Italia, the Turin giants are exploring a deal for the 20-year-old, although they are expected to face competition from Turkish side Fenerbahçe.

André is no stranger to Italian transfer speculation. Earlier this year, he was at the center of a complicated transfer saga involving AC Milan, but a bureaucratic dispute ultimately prevented the move from going through.

Now, Juventus appear ready to test the waters in an attempt to bring the versatile Brazilian to Serie A.

André : A Versatile Midfielder Who Fits Spalletti’s Ideas

As highlighted by Goal Italia, André is primarily a central midfielder capable of operating as a defensive midfielder in a double pivot or as a box-to-box midfielder in a three-man midfield.

However, his greatest strength lies in his tactical versatility. During his time at Corinthians, former coach Dorival Júnior even deployed him as an advanced wide player in a 4-2-3-1 system, asking him to perform hybrid tactical duties rather than play as a traditional winger.

Earlier in his development, André also featured as a right-back before eventually settling into midfield. Standing just over 1.80 meters tall, the Brazilian combines physical strength with impressive athleticism.

His aggressive style, ball-winning ability, and intensity make him an effective midfielder out of possession, although his eagerness has occasionally led to disciplinary issues. Improving his technical consistency remains one of the main areas of development in his game.

Some observers have compared his movement to that of former Juventus star Paul Pogba, but André himself has dismissed the comparison, explaining that only his running style resembles the Frenchman while insisting they are otherwise very different players.

Juventus Planning for the Future

Since making his first-team debut for Corinthians in 2024 after nearly a decade in the club’s academy, André has continued to impress.

In the current Brasileirão campaign, he has scored three goals in 14 appearances, including a memorable brace in Corinthians’ 3-1 victory over Grêmio before the league paused for the Club World Cup.

His previous move to Milan collapsed despite the Rossoneri offering €15 million plus €2 million in bonuses.

Although Corinthians initially accepted the proposal, disagreements over contractual documentation and missing signatures led to the transfer falling apart, with Milan ultimately deciding against taking the case to FIFA.

Juventus now hope to succeed where Milan failed. According to Goal Italia, André would initially be expected to earn his place gradually rather than walk straight into Spalletti’s starting lineup.

However, his versatility could prove extremely valuable, allowing him to fill multiple roles depending on the tactical setup.

The Bianconeri’s midfield could undergo significant changes before the transfer window closes. Khephren Thuram continues to attract interest from the Premier League, while Teun Koopmeiners’ future has also been questioned after an underwhelming spell in Turin.

Manuel Locatelli remains the undisputed leader of the midfield after extending his contract until 2030, but Juventus are still exploring additional options, with Franck Kessié also linked in recent weeks.

In that context, André represents both a long-term investment and a player capable of fitting Spalletti’s flexible tactical approach, making him one of the most intriguing names currently on Juventus’ transfer shortlist, according to Goal Italia.
