Juventus has blocked Kessie

Juventus remain active in the free-agent market as they look to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new season.

One of the club’s priority targets is Franck Kessie, the former AC Milan midfielder who is available after leaving Al Ahli and is keen on returning to European football.

According to Sportmediaset, negotiations between Juventus and Kessie’s representatives have been ongoing for some time, with discussions focused on reaching a final agreement over salary and performance-related bonuses.

Sporting director Giovanni Carnevali is said to have effectively reserved the Ivorian midfielder, although the transfer cannot yet be completed.

Arthur’s Departure Is the Key

The main obstacle preventing Juventus from finalizing Kessie’s arrival is the need to reduce the size of their current midfield squad.

Before the club can officially register the 28-year-old and schedule his medical examinations, they must first create space both financially and within the squad.

Arthur remains the leading candidate to leave Turin. Juventus are actively working to find the Brazilian midfielder a new destination, with loan solutions currently being explored as the club attempts to offload his wages.

Kessie Seen as an Ideal Fit

Kessie is viewed as a perfect addition to Juventus’ midfield thanks to his physical presence, ball-winning ability and extensive experience at the highest level.

Having previously impressed in Serie A with AC Milan, the Ivorian knows the league well and could make an immediate impact under Luciano Spalletti.

His arrival would provide the Bianconeri with the strength, intensity and leadership they were considered to have lacked during key moments of last season.

As reported by Sportmediaset, once Arthur’s future is resolved, Juventus are expected to move quickly to complete the signing of Kessie on a free transfer, securing one of the most experienced midfielders currently available on the market.
