Juventus prepare official offer for Reijnders

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Luciano Spalletti already has a clear vision for the type of players he wants to strengthen Juventus ahead of the 2026/27 season — regardless of whether the club secures qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

The Italian coach is expected to discuss the situation directly with John Elkann at the end of the season, with Juventus management reportedly aligned with his strategy.

While missing out on the Champions League would cost the club around €55–60 million compared to Europa League participation, the Bianconeri remain determined to pursue experienced and technically gifted reinforcements.

After the collapse of the move for Bernardo Silva, Juventus have now focused on two profiles considered ideal for Spalletti’s tactical demands — players capable of thriving in tight spaces and under heavy pressure.

Reijnders Dream Remains Difficult

One of the names high on Juventus’ shortlist is Tijjani Reijnders currently at Manchester City after his big-money move from AC Milan last summer.

The Dutch midfielder was signed by City for nearly €58 million plus bonuses, making any permanent deal extremely complicated for Juventus.

According to the report, the Turin giants could attempt a creative formula involving an expensive loan with a conditional obligation to buy in 2027 for around €40 million.

Reijnders also earns around €7 million net per season in England, another major obstacle. However, Juventus believe the player could be tempted by a fresh challenge after gradually losing prominence under Pep Guardiola.

Despite contributing 7 goals and 8 assists this season, Reijnders started only once in City’s last 13 Premier League matches.

Technically elegant and dangerous with his forward runs, the Dutchman is viewed more as a dynamic mezzala than a classic attacking midfielder, although he has also operated behind the striker during his spells at Milan and City.

Brahim Diaz Viewed as More Realistic Option

Juventus are also closely monitoring Brahim Diaz of Real Madrid, another former Milan player who perfectly matches Spalletti’s tactical profile.

The Spanish international, who helped Milan win the 2022 Serie A title, currently has a contract with Real Madrid until 2027, although negotiations over an extension until 2031 are ongoing.

Still, compared to Reijnders, Diaz is considered a far more achievable target due to his lower salary demands and more manageable transfer valuation.

From a tactical perspective, Diaz may even be the better fit. His ability to dribble in crowded areas, create chances, and operate between the lines makes him exactly the kind of player Spalletti wants in difficult attacking situations.

Unlike Reijnders, Diaz is naturally more creative than goal-oriented, though his versatility to play out wide has become a major asset during his recent seasons with Los Blancos.
