Xaver Schlager future is set to move away from RB Leipzig, and Juventus are wasting no time in trying to position themselves at the front of the race.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Bianconeri have already intensified contacts for the Austrian midfielder, whose contract with the German club expires in June and will not be renewed.

Leipzig made Schlager’s departure official through a club statement, confirming what had been expected for weeks. This announcement has effectively opened the market around the 27-year-old, attracting interest from several European clubs.

Juventus, however, had anticipated the situation well in advance. The Turin-based club had been aware of Schlager’s intentions and began informal talks with his representatives as early as December, aiming to build a strategic advantage over rival suitors.

Juventus Push Ahead of the Competition

Juventus’ plan is clear: move quickly and decisively to beat foreign competition, particularly from Celtic and a number of Premier League sides that have been monitoring Schlager for some time.

With his availability on a free transfer, the opportunity is seen as a low-risk, high-reward operation for a midfield department in need of depth, physicality, and experience.

The dialogue between the parties has been ongoing for weeks, and Juventus are now trying to accelerate negotiations.

The club believes that early groundwork could prove decisive in convincing the player, especially given the appeal of Serie A and Juventus’ long-term sporting project.

Xaver Schlager Profile and the Appeal of a New Challenge

From a technical perspective, Schlager is viewed as a complete and adaptable midfielder. He can operate as a defensive anchor in front of the back line or as a box-to-box mezzala, combining intensity, tactical discipline, and an ability to move the ball forward quickly.

These traits are highly valued by the Juventus technical staff, who see him as a reliable and dynamic option for the future.

Despite having faced significant injuries during his career, Schlager has shown strong mental resilience in overcoming setbacks. Off the pitch, he is also known for his social engagement, a quality that further enhances his reputation beyond footballing terms.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Schlager is eager to take the next step in his career and experience a new league. Juventus are watching closely, negotiating steadily, and pushing hard to secure a free-transfer deal that could strengthen their midfield for seasons to come.
