Juventus are intensifying their efforts to secure a top striker for the 2025–26 season, with Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres emerging as their leading alternative to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri have moved past preliminary interest and have already initiated talks with the Swedish international. Gyokeres is now seen as a concrete target, with his arrival hinging on key financial and competitive factors.

The club is preparing for changes in their attacking department. Randal Kolo Muani is expected to return to Paris Saint-Germain after his loan spell, while Dusan Vlahovic appears set to depart. And unwilling to extend his stay in Turin.

Juventus plan to reinvest funds from Vlahovic’s sale, along with Champions League revenue, to fund the acquisition of a new striker.

Gyokeres vs Osimhen: A strategic move

While Victor Osimhen remains on Juve’s radar, his high cost and salary demands may prove prohibitive. Gyokeres, who has a €100 million release clause at Sporting, presents a more affordable option.

Reports suggest Sporting CP may accept an offer closer to €70 million. And still a significant investment, but more financially viable than Osimhen. Additionally, Gyokeres’ wage expectations are lower, aligning better with Juventus’ salary structure.

However, Juventus face stiff competition for the 26-year-old’s signature. Arsenal are reportedly the strongest rival in the race, with the Premier League side eager to bolster their attacking options and willing to make a substantial offer.

The Gunners’ financial muscle and appeal of English football could make them a tough obstacle to overcome.

In conclusion, while Juventus are making meaningful progress in their pursuit of Gyokeres, securing the Swedish forward will depend not only on negotiations with Sporting CP but also on fending off interest from Arsenal.

The summer transfer window is shaping up to be a high-stakes battle for one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.
