Despite Olympique Marseille repeatedly insisting that Pierre-Emile Højbjerg is not for sale, Juventus have not abandoned their pursuit and are reportedly ready to return with a fresh financial proposal.
The Danish midfielder remains one of Juventus’ top priorities to strengthen the middle of the pitch during the January transfer window.

While firm resistance continues to come from Marseille, the Bianconeri believe the situation is still worth monitoring and pushing forward.
Juventus Ready to Push with a Cash Offer
According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Juventus are preparing a new offer worth around €25 million in an attempt to convince Marseille to reconsider their stance.
An earlier idea involving a potential swap deal with Manuel Locatelli has reportedly been abandoned, with Juventus now willing to focus exclusively on a straight cash proposal.
The Turin-based club see Højbjerg as an ideal fit for their midfield rebuild. His experience at the highest level, tactical discipline, and leadership qualities are viewed as key attributes that could bring balance and maturity to the squad, especially in crucial moments of the season.

From Marseille’s perspective, however, the message remains unchanged. Sporting director Mehdi Benatia has publicly reaffirmed the club’s determination to keep the former Tottenham player, underlining his importance to head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s project.
Benatia highlighted Højbjerg’s all-around qualities and personal trust in the player, recalling their time together at Bayern Munich and explaining why he pushed strongly to bring him to Marseille.
According to the OM executive, the midfielder is a central figure in the team’s technical vision and is not expected to leave, regardless of external interest.
While Juventus appear ready to test Marseille’s resolve with a significant offer, negotiations remain complicated. Whether financial pressure will eventually open the door remains uncertain, but for now, Marseille continue to draw a clear line in the sand.
