Juventus are keeping a close eye on the developing situation between Frenkie de Jong and Barcelona.

According to Diario Sport, tensions between the Dutch midfielder and the Catalan club have increased in recent weeks, potentially opening the door to a scenario that could attract the Bianconeri’s attention.

Despite recently extending his contract with Barcelona until 2029, De Jong’s future in Catalonia may no longer be completely certain.

One of the key factors is the midfielder’s decision not to undergo surgery following a tear to the medial collateral ligament in his right knee — a situation that has drawn comparisons with the case of Paul Pogba.

Juventus Keeping De Jong on Their Radar

Juventus consider midfield one of the areas that could require reinforcements, and a player with De Jong’s experience, technical quality and international pedigree would undoubtedly represent a major addition to the squad.

Juventus are showing interest in signing Barcelona midfielder with a loan until the end of the season, with Juventus covering his high salary, could emerge as an option.

The deal could also include a purchase option, while De Jong faces increased competition for minutes at Barcelona.

For now, however, the situation remains one to monitor rather than an active negotiation.

Much will depend on how the relationship between De Jong and Barcelona develops, as well as the financial conditions the Spanish club could demand and the midfielder’s physical situation.

Juventus remain vigilant and could look to take advantage if an opportunity emerges to bring a world-class midfielder to Turin.
