Juventus contacts to sign AS Roma player

Italian transfer expert Nicolò Schira, speaking on his official YouTube channel, has provided an in-depth update on the future of Zeki Çelik, a situation that could become one of the more intriguing free-agent stories ahead of the next season.

Çelik, the Turkish international full-back currently at AS Roma, is approaching the end of his contract and negotiations over a renewal have hit a standstill.

According to Schira, the player is seeking either a three- or four-year deal worth around €4 million per season. Roma, however, are unwilling to meet those demands and have instead proposed a three-year contract valued at €2.8 million annually.

That offer was rejected by Çelik, creating a clear impasse between the parties. This deadlock has inevitably attracted interest from elsewhere.

Schira reports that Liverpool have made an initial inquiry to understand the player’s situation, while Juventus have also requested information, keeping a close eye on developments as the contract expiry approaches.

Juventus Monitoring the Opportunity for Zeki Çelik

Juventus’ interest appears consistent with their broader transfer strategy. As highlighted by Nicolò Schira, the Bianconeri have increasingly focused on free transfers, viewing expiring contracts as valuable opportunities to strengthen the squad without heavy transfer fees.

The club had previously explored a move for Óscar Mingueza, but that track has since gone cold. With multiple options on the table, Çelik’s future remains open.

Juventus, in particular, could decide to move decisively if Roma fail to reopen negotiations on improved terms. Schira suggests that, just as Juventus have done recently with Jonathan David, they may look to secure one or even two players on a free transfer in the upcoming window.

As things stand, the coming months will be crucial. Unless Roma shift their position, Zeki Çelik could soon become one of the most attractive names on the free-agent market, with top European clubs ready to pounce — a scenario closely followed and reported by Nicolò Schira.
