Brazilian midfielder Casemiro is among the biggest names in world football who could become a free agent after June 30, when his contract with Manchester United expires.
According to Calciomercato, the experienced midfielder recently turned 34 (February 23) and has already started reflecting on his future, including discussing Italian football and Serie A with Luka Modric, now a key figure in AC Milan and his former teammate at Real Madrid.

Casemiro and Modric, alongside Toni Kroos, formed one of the most dominant midfield trios in club football history.
Between 2015 and 2022, Casemiro played 336 matches for Real Madrid, scoring 31 goals and winning three La Liga titles and five UEFA Champions League trophies.
His move to Manchester United marked a new chapter, but also a more turbulent one. Despite contributing 21 goals in 140 appearances and helping the English club secure the FA Cup and League Cup, his time at Old Trafford now appears to be nearing its conclusion.
Both the player and the club reportedly believe the time has come for a new direction. After conquering Spain during his peak years and facing challenges in the physically demanding Premier League in the latter stage of his career, Casemiro is carefully evaluating his next move.
Milan and Juventus emerge as potential destinations for Casemiro
Serie A could present an attractive opportunity for the Brazilian veteran. His experience, tactical intelligence, and defensive discipline would make him a valuable asset for several Italian clubs.
AC Milan are among the most interested, especially given his strong understanding with Luka Modric. Whether the Croatian stays or leaves, Casemiro’s presence would align with coach Massimiliano Allegri’s preference for a physically strong and tactically reliable midfielder capable of shielding the defense.

Juventus are also closely monitoring the situation. The Turin side is expected to focus on a limited number of signings but prioritize players with leadership and experience.
Their recent performances have highlighted the need for greater balance and composure in midfield, qualities Casemiro could immediately provide.
Financially, however, a move to Italy would require compromise. Currently earning around €18 million net per season, Casemiro would need to accept a significantly lower salary.
Reports suggest a two-year contract worth €5–6 million per season could be enough to bring him to Serie A. For Italian clubs seeking proven winners, Casemiro represents a rare opportunity to sign a world-class midfielder on a free transfer, potentially adding leadership and winning mentality at a crucial moment.
