Alisson Becker main candidate to replace Di Gregorio

“Call them opportunities, if you like.” That phrase perfectly captures the mood surrounding Juventus as the club prepares for what could become a genuine goalkeeping revolution next summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri are seriously evaluating their options between the posts, with several question marks hovering over the current trio.

Michele Di Gregorio is reportedly under scrutiny following a string of costly mistakes, while Mattia Perin is eager to reclaim a starting role rather than remain a backup.

Carlo Pinsoglio, meanwhile, is said to be considering retirement. With uncertainty mounting, Juventus have begun scanning the market — and their focus appears firmly set on the Premier League.

Among the names being discussed are Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario and, more intriguingly, Liverpool’s experienced Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker. The 33-year-old, whose contract at Anfield runs until 2027, could represent a strategic opportunity if circumstances align.

Experience, Timing, and Market Conditions

The idea of reinforcing the No. 1 position is not new. Juventus had already explored the possibility of signing Mike Maignan on a free transfer, but the Frenchman’s recent renewal with AC Milan has forced the club to pivot toward alternative solutions.

Much will depend on finances. Participation in the next Champions League would reportedly secure around €60 million in revenue — a crucial figure for shaping the summer budget.

Should resources prove limited, Alisson’s situation becomes even more attractive. Liverpool have already secured Giorgi Mamardashvili as their goalkeeper of the future, potentially opening the door for a transition.

Alisson brings more than pedigree. With over 400 appearances for Liverpool, two Premier League titles, and a Champions League triumph, he would inject leadership, composure, and invaluable international experience into the Juventus dressing room.

Interestingly, he shares a past connection with current Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti, having worked under him during the 2016/17 season at Roma.

Back then, Alisson was still adapting to European football. Today, he stands as one of the most accomplished goalkeepers of his generation.

For Juventus, this is not merely about replacing a goalkeeper — it is about redefining security, ambition, and identity at the heart of their defensive structure.
