Juventus are once again exploring the possibility of bringing Eljif Elmas back to Serie A, with the versatile North Macedonian midfielder emerging as a serious option for Luciano Spalletti ahead of the new season.
According to TuttoMercato, fresh contacts have recently taken place between the parties, and the Bianconeri could make a move if the financial conditions prove favorable.
Elmas, who remains under contract with RB Leipzig until 2028, is evaluating his next career step after Napoli decided against activating the option to make his stay permanent following the 2025/26 campaign.

While the 25-year-old had hoped for an opportunity with a leading Premier League side, interest from Aston Villa has not progressed beyond an initial inquiry, leaving the door open for a return to Italian football.
Spalletti Pushes for a Reunion with Eljif Elmas
A reunion with Spalletti could be the key factor in Juventus’ pursuit. The Italian coach knows Elmas better than almost anyone, having worked with him during Napoli’s unforgettable Scudetto-winning campaign in 2022/23.
Although often used as an impact substitute, Elmas became one of the squad’s most reliable performers, finishing the league season with six goals—behind only Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the club’s scoring charts.
His ability to operate in multiple midfield and attacking roles made him a valuable tactical weapon, something Spalletti is believed to appreciate as Juventus continue shaping a more flexible squad for the upcoming season.
Leipzig Exit Opens the Door
After leaving Napoli for RB Leipzig, Elmas struggled to establish himself in Germany. A loan spell at Torino in early 2025 briefly revived his fortunes, producing four goals in 13 appearances, but the Turin club ultimately declined to meet the agreed purchase price.
He then returned to Napoli, making 33 appearances across the season before the club decided not to complete a permanent deal, reportedly unwilling to invest more than €10–11 million.
Napoli officially confirmed the departure this week with a heartfelt farewell message wishing the midfielder the best for the future.

Now, with his future once again uncertain, Juventus are closely monitoring the situation.
As reported by TuttoMercato, Spalletti would welcome the opportunity to work with Elmas again, and if negotiations with RB Leipzig become financially achievable, the experienced midfielder could soon be preparing for another return to Serie A—this time wearing the famous black and white of Juventus.
