Giant club prepare 75M€ for Tonali

Real Madrid are already planning the future of their midfield, and Sandro Tonali has emerged as one of their primary targets.

According to reports relayed by TuttoJuve, the Spanish giants are prepared to invest around €75 million in an attempt to bring the Newcastle United playmaker to the Santiago Bernabéu.

The potential move underlines Madrid’s clear intention to rebuild and elevate their midfield department following the departures of iconic figures such as Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić in recent years.

Replacing players of that caliber is no simple task, but the club’s hierarchy appears determined to secure a profile capable of maintaining – and even raising – the team’s technical and tactical standards.

Real Madrid’s Midfield Rebuild

Los Blancos are said to be searching for a complete midfielder: someone comfortable dictating the tempo, capable of contributing defensively, and strong enough mentally to thrive on the international stage. Tonali, now 25, fits many of those criteria.

Since joining Newcastle in the summer of 2023, the Italian international has become an integral part of the Magpies’ project.

He has made 95 official appearances, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists, while consistently demonstrating leadership and composure in the heart of midfield.

His blend of vision, work rate, and tactical intelligence has made him one of the most respected Italian midfielders of his generation.

A Complex Negotiation Ahead

Despite Real Madrid’s reported willingness to table a substantial offer, negotiations would not be straightforward. Newcastle are under no immediate pressure to sell.

Tonali remains under contract until June 2028, and the Premier League club views him as a cornerstone of their long-term ambitions.

While Madrid may be ready to offer €75 million, indications suggest Newcastle would demand upwards of €100 million to even consider opening talks. Such a gap in valuation could complicate discussions significantly.

Moreover, Real Madrid are not alone in tracking the Italian star. Arsenal, Juventus, and Manchester United are also closely monitoring the situation, potentially setting the stage for a competitive transfer battle.

The coming months could prove decisive, as one of Europe’s most prestigious clubs weighs up a major investment to secure the midfield leader of tomorrow.
