Fenerbahce wants Openda, the details

Further confirmations are emerging from Turkey regarding Fenerbahçe’s concrete interest in Lois Openda, the Belgian international striker currently playing for Juventus.

According to reports from Fanatik, the Istanbul-based club is seriously evaluating the possibility of making a move as early as the January transfer window.

Fenerbahçe Monitoring Openda Situation Closely

Openda, born in 2000, is formally a Juventus player but his ownership situation is more complex. Juventus are in fact committed to an obligatory redemption clause at the end of the season, which would see the Italian giants pay €40.6 million, plus an additional €1.7 million in bonuses tied to league placement from tenth position upwards.

Until that obligation is exercised, the player’s registration rights remain with RB Leipzig, who currently hold his contract. This detail is crucial in the context of Fenerbahçe’s plans. As highlighted by Fanatik, any potential offer in January would need to be submitted directly to Leipzig, not Juventus.

The Turkish club is therefore carefully assessing both the financial feasibility of the deal and the timing, knowing that Juventus’ future move is already contractually defined.

Juventus, Leipzig and a Potential January Scenario

Despite Juventus’ intention to complete the permanent signing at the end of the season, the situation could still open up room for negotiations if an attractive proposal arrives early.

Fenerbahçe are reportedly exploring the market for a high-profile attacking reinforcement, and Openda’s profile — pace, physicality, and international experience — fits perfectly with their ambitions both domestically and in Europe.

At the same time, Juventus remain attentive observers. While the Bianconeri consider Openda a strategic investment for the future, an unexpected January bid could reshape the scenario, especially if Leipzig see an opportunity to capitalize financially before the mandatory buyout takes effect.

For now, no official offer has been submitted, but Fanatik’s report confirms that the interest is real and ongoing.

With the winter transfer window approaching, Openda’s situation is one to watch closely, as it could become one of the most intriguing cross-market negotiations involving Serie A, Bundesliga, and Turkish football.
