Breaking from Nico Schira on Joao Mario, Norton-Cuffy & Adzic

Juventus are entering a decisive phase of their winter transfer planning, with several players potentially on the move as the club looks to balance sporting needs and financial sustainability.

According to Nico Schira, discussions and evaluations are ongoing on multiple fronts, involving both senior figures and young prospects within the squad.

Joao Mario and the Premier League Option

In the coming days, Joao Mario’s representatives are expected to meet Juventus CEO Damien Comolli to assess the best possible solution for all parties involved.

The feeling around the club is that the Portuguese full-back could leave as early as January, provided the right offer arrives. Juventus are hoping to secure a fee in the region of €11–12 million, a figure that would allow them to avoid a capital loss on their balance sheet.

Interest from abroad is already emerging. The Premier League, in particular, is being closely monitored, with Crystal Palace having already made preliminary enquiries.

Further approaches from England are not ruled out, while clubs in La Liga are also keeping tabs on the situation. A foreign move currently appears the most realistic scenario should Joao Mario depart in the coming weeks.

Norton-Cuffy Battle and Adzic’s Loan Future

Another name generating strong interest is Norton-Cuffy, who was brought to Italy for just €2 million in the summer of 2024 thanks to the work of Marco Ottolini, soon to be officially announced as Juventus’ new sporting director.

Ottolini’s presence could prove decisive in Juventus’ pursuit of the English winger, who is also admired by Napoli. However, Genoa head coach Daniele De Rossi is keen to keep Norton-Cuffy at Pegli until the end of the season.

That stance could change if an offer between €15 and €20 million is presented, especially if Juventus include Mattia Perin in the deal. The goalkeeper has been personally requested by De Rossi as a winter reinforcement.

Meanwhile, Vasilje Adzic is set to leave on loan for the second half of the season to gain consistent playing time. Several Serie A clubs — including Pisa, Cagliari, Cremonese, Genoa, and Parma — have already made initial enquiries for the 2006-born talent.

Adzic’s objective is clear: find the right environment to complete his development and return to Juventus next summer ready to fight for a leading role, rather than remaining a peripheral figure.
