3 stars to leave Juventus if UCL qualification is missed

Juventus once again find themselves at a familiar crossroads this season: qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

Much like last year, reaching Europe’s top competition is not just a sporting objective, but a decisive factor that could shape the club’s entire future—both on and off the pitch.

While the recent contract renewal of Luciano Spalletti, made official yesterday, was not tied to Champions League qualification, many other key decisions certainly are—especially when it comes to the transfer market.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the financial implications of missing out on the competition would be significant, limiting Juventus’ ability to attract top-tier players.

Without the prestige and revenue of the Champions League, convincing elite talents to join the project becomes considerably more difficult.

Market Strategy Hinges on Qualification

From an economic standpoint, participation in the Champions League provides vital income streams that allow clubs to invest more aggressively.

For Juventus, failure to qualify could force a more cautious and strategic approach. Instead of targeting established stars, the club might need to focus on more affordable profiles or emerging talents.

However, the consequences may go even further. Without Champions League football, Juventus could be compelled to sacrifice one of their key players to balance the books and maintain financial stability.

Possible High-Profile Departure

As highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club would need to identify the most “expendable” asset in such a scenario. One name that stands out is Khephren Thuram.

Signed for around €20 million, his value has reportedly doubled, making him a prime candidate for a profitable sale.

A similar situation applies to Pierre Kalulu, who has impressed throughout the season and attracted interest from Premier League sides.

Meanwhile, Gleison Bremer—long considered untouchable—may no longer be off the market.

This summer could represent the final opportunity for Juventus to secure a major fee for the Brazilian defender.

Ultimately, Juventus’ immediate future will largely depend on whether they can secure their place among Europe’s elite once again.
