Barcelona may emerge as a significant destination for Dusan Vlahovic next summer, possibly marking a surprising development in the transfer market, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Serbian forward, who initially excelled at Juventus following a successful period with Fiorentina, is currently finding it difficult to gain prominence under manager Thiago Motta.

Reports indicate that Juventus is willing to sell him in the upcoming transfer window, with Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain listed as potential contenders. After a promising start at Juventus, his performance has declined, as evidenced by his goal counts of 14 in 2022-23, 18 in 2023-24, and only 12 in 2024-25. However, his youth and talent still render him an appealing option in European football.

Barcelona could be his next destination?

Barcelona appears to align with Vlahovic’s long-term potential, focusing on future-ready strategies that might include him.

Recent reports from Italy highlight both Barcelona and PSG as potential landing spots for Vlahovic, though both have their challenges.

PSG might not be suitable, given coach Luis Enrique’s preference for a non-traditional attacking style that has previously affected Randall Kolo Muani’s impact in Paris. Vlahovic, as a classic striker, may not fit well into PSG’s tactical plan, making Barcelona a more viable option.

Conversely, Barcelona views Vlahovic as a possible long term successor to their aging striker Robert Lewandowski, who is now 36.

While Lewandowski remains a crucial part of the team, his age necessitates that Barcelona strategize for his eventual replacement. With Lewandowski contracted until 2026, the Catalan club might opt to sign Vlahovic sooner to ensure a smooth transition, allowing him to learn from one of the best before stepping into a larger role.

Ultimately, Vlahovic’s future remains uncertain, but a potential move to Barcelona could benefit both the player and the club as they seek to solidify their attacking lineup for the future.
